City Limits Opinion: Do We Really Support Children?

In this opinion piece, published in City Limits, Her Justice Director of Policy Rachel Braunstein outlines the importance of NY’s child support system, including how more efficient processes and better access could combat childhood poverty. 

“While states like New York emphasize supporting vulnerable women and children as a priority, there has been too little focus on the need to improve the child support system to do so—especially within family courts. Instead, these courts—which handle hundreds of thousands of cases per year—have been historically neglected.”

Her Justice Raises Record-Breaking $3.25 million at 2022 Annual Photography Auction + Benefit

A record-breaking celebration, including a silent photography auction and mission exhibit, the event raised over $3.25 million for the New York City organization. Her Justice Policy Research Cited in Report on the Impact of COVID-19 on NY Family Court

The report, led by the Fund for Modern Courts and the New York City Bar Association, details the dire need for reform as well as substantive recommendations for how to improve and modernize the system.
